This type of cleansing goes back to a centuries-old tradition. Originally, it was a place for ritual ablutions in Islam. Nowadays, these bathhouses are a place to meet and are often advertised as a wellness oasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The procedures can vary depending on the bathhouse. It always starts with washing with clear water. This is followed by a steam bath, where the pores open up and the muscles relax. It is customary to lie on a kind of heated stone or platform, where you are then soaped up. We warmly recommend this treat for body and soul!<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Vienna, for example, the Aux Gazelles<\/a> at the beginning of the Mariahilfer Strasse offers a combination of hammam and spa. The basic ritual here costs 30 euros<\/strong>. You can also treat yourself to various hammam rituals at the Asiwan Spa<\/a> in the 1st district, where prices start at 105 euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Address<\/strong>: The Sargfabrik bathhouse regularly organises bathing events for women, such as “Jasmins Spa” or “Venus im Bade”. At Jasmins Spa, you can enjoy the warmth of the sauna, the scent of lavender in the tepidarium and the bubbles in the whirlpool – all textiles are welcome, from bikini to burkini. Venus im Bade is an after-work wellness event for women that takes place one Friday a month from October to March. This sauna is a favourite haunt of the homosexual scene in Vienna when it comes to a sauna for men only<\/strong>. The entrance fee is 25 euros<\/strong>. There are special offers from Monday to Thursday, for example reduced admission on Mondays, where you can get in for 4 euros less.
